Scleral Buckle and Vitrectomy for Retinal Detachment, This 65 year old woman had retinal detachment with decrease visual acuity for 1 week.. The visual acuity is 20/80. This video shows some blood because of the extensive surgery. The scleral buckle part of the surgery at the beginning of the surgery has some blood.
This eye has recurrent PVR. Dr. Uram uses the endoscope to image areas of retinal detachment as well as peripheral areas of gliosis. A retinectomy is required in another area. The laser endoscope is then used to photocoagulate the retina.

A retinal detachment with an elemant of PDR is examined by Dr Martin Uram prior to membranectomy and air/fluid exchange. A previous sclerotomy site with vitreous incarcerated is also seen.
A typical case of vitreous hemorrhage and proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Using the endoscopic, Dr. Uram views the process of victrectomy. Afterwards the laser endoscope is used to perform panretinal photocoagulation.
