Super Collider, the 10 billion dollar atom smasher becomes reality in Geneva, Switzerland. The super collider is 300 feet underground and 17 miles long. Super magnets force atoms to travel the 17 mile loop, 11,000 times a second, to help answer questions about the universe and planet earth.
The Super Collider operates at near zero on the Kelvin Scale, minus 459.67 degrees Fahrenheit.
